On Saturday, June 19th 2010 c3: VisionLAB presented STATE OF THE ARTS: 2010, a symposium addressing future trends in the Arts and Media and their function in Culture and Society.   Inspired in part by the LA Opera Ring, this inquiry also functioned as a celebration of the Ring Festival LA and served as an inaugural event to launch the creation of a global arts and media node in partnership with the The Millennium Project and the State of the Future annual report.  This unique symposium served as a transdisciplinary inquiry into the future of and function of art and media in society by bringing together thought leaders in the areas of the arts and media, technology, science, creativity and consciousness studies.  For more information and photos please visit www.c3so.com.

In preparation for the symposium an introductory event was held on Monday, November 16, 2009.  c3: Center for Conscious Creativity & GATE (Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment), in collaboration with IMERSA (Immersive Media Entertainment, Research, Science and Arts) and Creative Visions Foundation presented:

IMMERSE THE FUTURE -- A VISIONARY EVENING OF

ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Artists, musicians, media executives, entertainment and arts professionals, patrons, educators and those interested in the future of arts, media and entertainment gathered at Los Angeles Center Studios in downtown LA for an enlightening evening of information, entertainment and networking.   Topics and displays included emerging techonologies such as; a 3D Dome Theatre and interactive Gesturetek,  the latest in immersive media, neurofeedback art, virtual worlds and other cutting-edge media formats and their potential as tools for transformation.

Attendees learned about exciting plans for Los Angeles' first citywide arts festival -- the upcoming RING FEST LA and the c3: VisionLAB 2010: STATE OF THE ARTS symposium.
Presentations were made by the LA Opera; Kathy Eldon, Founder of Creative Visions Foundation; John Raatz, Founder of GATE; Ed Lantz, Founder of IMERSA and Vortex Immersion Media and the c3: Center for Conscious Creativity, followed by an inspiring keynote by noted author and futurist, Jerome Glenn, the Director of the Millennium Project who offered insights on the future of arts, media and entertainment and their effects on global culture. He also announced his desire to create a Global Arts and Media Node which the c3 has now been officially invited to help create.  This Node will be made up of an international group of futuristic artists and media visionaries, and institutions, to become the Global Arts and Media Node for the Millennium Project's "State of the Future."
